CSS3 resources and a markup assignment

Here are some additional CSS3 resources

Markup assignment

Design and create a single webpage that uses at least 3 different CSS3 techniques, you are not limited to the ones I demoed in class. You may use your grid to layout the page if you want. You may use dummy text and it does not have to be related to website proposed in the Grid assignment. Be sure to use the CSS3 techniques in a way that will not break the integrity of your page design if they are not supported.

This is due by: Tuesday Sept 27.

I have also posted 2 chapter from:
Handcrafted CSS: More Bulletproof Web Design
by: Dan Cederholm
Chapter 5: Modular Float Management
Chapter 6: The Fluid Grid
PBDS.661.185 – ADVANCED WEB DEVELOPMENT (Fall 2011)

These should be helpful with developing your grid framework.

Design workflow and the design layer

Now that you are using a grid centric approach to laying out your websites we are going to discuss various ways to approach the actual design aspects of a site. In recent years there has been much talk about the pros and cons of doing an actual design mockup in Photoshop or another design tool (Fireworks, Illustrator or In Design). Please read the following articles:

I am going to be doing some CSS3 and Jquery demos in class. You can download the following zip files with the demo source code to follow along:
